DARAJA CONNECT is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering scholars at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) by providing them with the resources, education, and support 

necessary to thrive in the evolving landscape of Film & TV. Our mission is to equip underserved students with cutting-edge skills in emerging technologies—such as Extended Reality (XR)—to foster immersive storytelling. Through access to mentorship, sponsorship, and a robust curriculum, DARAJA CONNECT opens pathways for these future leaders to develop and share culturally rich, diverse narratives across various genres  reflecting current social & tech  equity issues.

We bridge the gap between aspiring storytellers and seasoned industry professionals, offering students hands-on learning experiences, direct connections to creative experts, and guidance on how to navigate the film and television industries. In addition to technical skills, we empower students to create impactful narratives by equipping them with the knowledge to market and distribute their work effectively. By fostering a new generation of creatives adept in XR and other emerging technologies, DARAJA CONNECT aims to amplify stories of color and enrich the storytelling landscape with voices that reflect a diverse array of backgrounds and experiences. Through our initiatives, we are charting a sustainable path for immersive storytelling that brings new perspectives and innovations to Film & TV.
